Exterior Murals and Anti-graffiti Art

The ugliness of graffiti is surprisingly easy and low-cost to transform into beauty.
Art at Heart are award-winning specialists.

Graffiti criminals like to paint on a clean, single colour wall. Their scribbles won't show clearly if done over a colourful painting, so they usually seem to attack a different, cleaner "blank canvas" target.

Art at Heart are specialists in transforming these areas of graffiti-ed ugliness into beauty and joy. We are even award-winners! Here are some examples of our previous work:

Traffic Signal Boxes

Here is what these signal boxes look like before the anti-graffiti artwork goes on to protect them:

A lovely new artwork to replace the ugly graffiti: "Sulphur crested cockatoos over Brisbane River" See this on the corner of Park Road and Coronation Drive, Milton.

  or this:

"Rainforest Critters" on Cribb Street, Milton.

  or this:

the award-winning art work.
"Brisbane River - Day & Night"

  or even this!

"Regatta at the Regatta" - commissioned by the manager of the Regatta Hotel. It depicted the final paint colours of the hotel after renovations, so passers-by got a preview glimpse of the future colours for the hotel! The colours were even painted in the actual sample paints chosen by the managers.

This shows the Regatta within the picture on the signal box, and a couple of patrons of the pub got their portraits painted into the picture!

Energex Substation Boxes

Energex substations are favourite targets for graffiti too. This one at Rosalie had been a repeated target for graffiti criminals, and the council had to paint over it dozens of times. You can see recent council paint in this picture. Situated right in the middle of a classy little shopping precinct, the owner of the shops decided to transform this eyesore into a work of art by calling Art at Heart:

The end result, titled "Bilby Village", depicted bilbies having fun enjoying each of the services available at the centre. The base colour was matched to the existing stonework colour.

There was one panel per shop, from sushi-eating bilbies to wine drinking, so the artwork has a double benefit of being advertising (without actually advertising!). The owner, customers and shop owners alike all loved the end result.
